Power Quality Measurements

Objectives

Energy and power quality measurements aim to characterize the behavior of an electrical circuit (transformer, feeder, motor, speed variator) in terms of the following electrical variables: power consumption, power factor, energy consumption and power quality (current and voltage imbalance, harmonic contamination and flicker). Likewise, transient events such as sudden rises and falls in voltage are recorded. Once the circuit has been characterized, problems can be identified such as: low power factor, harmonic contamination, damage to equipment related to transient overvoltages, non-compliance with the Network Code, among others. Once the problem has been identified, possible solutions can be analyzed.

This service may include the specification and simulation of harmonic pollution control equipment with specialized software.
